In 1995, the iconic Musician and Visionary, David Bowie and Artist, Designer and Philosopher, Davide De Angelis began collaborating on Artwork for Bowie’s Album “Outside”. It was a creative working relationship that endured for many years and spanned a number of projects, including the development of art for the album “Earthling” and concepts for stage sets, books, products, and art shows.
The Starman Tarot was conceived De Angelis. And was one where both Artistis collaborated together to ignite ideas and create a highly innovative and visually spectacular tarot deck.
An integral aspect of the design, was for Bowie to subtly interweave his persona into the major characters of the cards. The deck contains a myriad of references to Bowie’s powerful Archetypes, cultural comments, intricate sacred geometries, alchemy, magic, shamanic teachings, mesmerising dreamscapes and the sacred teachings of the World’s mystery traditions.
