The first Angel created by God, Michael is the leader of all the Archangels and is in charge of protection courage strength truth and integrity.
This statue is based on the artwork by Guido Reni, circa 1636 of Michael and Satan held in Santa Maria della Concezione dei Cappuccini, Rome. “St Michael Archangel” where the Archangel Michael is trampling Satan. He wears a late Roman military cloak and cuirass.
