Smudge Stick – White Sage & Black Sage
Naturally grown and traditionally made with love. Contains a crystal which can be buried in your garden as thanks for your prayers being answered.
To smudge is to purify with smoke from certain sacred herbs. The sacred ritual of purifying with smoke comes from native people all around the world. White Sage is used in North and South America. Eucalyptus is used in Australia. Smoke may be used to purify the body, crystals, home, office and healing rooms. Great to repel mosquitoes and other insects too.
Smudge stick ceremonies are quite significant at Aphelion (when the earth is furthest from the sun), Perihelion (when the earth is closest to the sun), Equinoxes and Solstices. Sage is used in ceremony to cleanse and in prayer.
A smudge stick is a bundle of dried herbs, most commonly white sage. Often other herbs or plants are used or added and the leaves are usually bound with string in a small bundle and dried. They have a strong pleasant aroma when burnt.
How to use: Smudge sticks should be igited over a ceramic (heat resistant) bowl containing sand. Gently blow upon the glowing embers to produce smoke. After smudging extingush the bundle in sand and store for future use in a dry place.
